Lebanon Downtown Study (2024)

The Lebanon Downtown Study seeks to identify strategies to make Lebanon, NH a desirable destination for the Mascoma River Valley, continuing the Town’s legacy as a regional hub for arts, culture, and recreation. The study is focusing primarily on the Downtown parking lots, which are currently under-utilized, city-owned, and present key opportunities due to their proximity to Downtown Lebanon, the riverfront, and a number of community assets. Agency Landscape + Planning is tasked with engagement and feasibility analysis for a range of urban design and planning factors, including ecology, river connectivity, enhanced mobility, branding, wayfinding, and increased development and housing production.

I focused on cartographic research, analyzing Lebanon’s existing conditions in zoning, infrastructure, ecology/water resources, regulations, community assets, and multimodal site access. I designed engagement materials including postcards and presentations for community workshops, as well as visuals to help local residents visualize scope and design opportunities for the site, such as a “ski map” and historical GIF to illustrate the changing land uses through the centuries. I additionally developed project-wide graphic standards, including a project color palette and representation strategies.

Work completed while working as Urban Design and Planning Intern at Agency Landscape + Planning, in collaboration with Kari Roynesdal (Project Manager)
